My Ipod tries to update each time the computer is turned on and the update just plain doesn't work. I go to install it via the internet and it freezes everything thing up. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to disable the auto update on the Ipod? It worked fine before, which makes me mad!

Is your iPod recognized by the iPod Updater application? There were some reports of users having troubles with that issue. Apple posted some info to get the update to work. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61937

If you don't want your iPod to udpate the iPod Software Updater folder is located in your Utilities folder. You can remove that and that should stop the automatic update.

You'll need the update if you downloaded iTunes 4.5 so your iPod can work with the music store and new features in iTunes 4.5.
