Hey all,
I know this is a stupid question, but could you use a PC keyboard on a Mac (if you simply had to)?
Is it possible? Has anyone ever tried?
Cheers.

USB keyboards and mice are universal.

I know it will work... my HP keyboard works with my powerbook, but where would the apple key be?

That's what I'd like to know. Would the Windows key be the Apple key?

Try the control or alt key. On my M$ kb before I installed the drivers, the keys were in the same locations as the Apple keyboard.

I used a Belkin Windows keyboard for a long time and the Windows key was the command (Apple) key. They were not in the same order as on Mac keyboards so whenever I went to another Mac I always had to look when I used it. (Alt = Option and Control = Control)

Indeed. On a PC keyboard, the position of the Command and Option keys is reversed.
PS/2 or old AT keyboards cannot be used without an adapter. USB keyboards work. USB keyboards with Mac drivers (e.g. MS or Logitech) work even better.

Indeed, but unless it's some exotic keyboard, the adapter costs as much as or more than a basic USB keyboard.

Thanks for the tips, but I actually just splurged and bought the Apple Bluetooth keyboard. I have a feeling I'll like it quite a bit.
