Hi there

Just got one. Everyone is raving. However:

1. The mouse doesn't work to begin with. It takes frantic wiggling to wake it up. Once it 'picks-up' the cursor, it's very zippy (even a little hyperactive) but, when stationary for a second or two, it craps-out again.

2. When stationary, the cursor performs a little dance - shuffling around inside a square inch of the screen.

I've contacted Macmice support. Any other users with similiar problems?

Thanks

What kind of surface do you have it on? If it's glass, really glossy, has odd patterns, etc. it can throw up the sensor, making the cursor jumpy.

The surface is plain wood - I've tried it on a mouse pad too. No, unfortunately this is a fault. The surface issue wouldn't explain why the mouse stops functioning each time it comes to a rest.

AND GUESS WHAT? I've just picked up my replacement and it exhibits exactly the same faults!

I'm afraid this is a 'faulty product warning'. Assuming, of course, that it isn't an issue with my machine/OS. No reply from Macmice yet, who pride themselves in 24 hour email support. I contacted them three days ago...

While I don't have the links handy, MacMice is not exactly known for good customer service and quality products. Long, sorted history.
