Just curious if the HD capability in the 23" make it more suitable for watching TV. I will be moving soon to a larger place and I will be keeping my work area within my bed room. I thought it would be nice just to have a large display and share it as a TV/DVD viewer. Some say the quality of viewing TV on the 20" is subpar. Does this change on the 23"?
Am I ready for the Mac? I want a 60G iPod!!!!!

As anyone seems to help you, Iīll try it

The HD monicker in the 23" is really to let you know that you can 'create' HD content on it. To be able to watch HDTV you also need a HDTV card or something similar currently not available on the Mac, there is a nice guy working on write drivers to use those pc HDTV cards with a Mac, nice eh! This goes for that guy -->

I tested a G5 with a Miglia Alchemy TV card connected to a 20" Apple TFT, and it is speechless I have the Televio (previously name used) and it works flawless with my Yosemite G3 and my Moby (Apple 21" CRT) Display.

If you have an external Firewire hard drive:

Download VLC onto it, http://www.videolan.org
Download some HDTV sample clips onto it, http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=213266
Take the drive to an Apple Store and ask if you can play the HDTV samples on both the 20" and 23" displays.

If you want to watch 1080 HDTV (1920 x 1080) at full resolution, you'll need a 23" display; however, even on a lowly 12" PowerBook screen, HDTV playback appears significantly sharper than DVD does.

A $1,295 adapter is unnecessary if you have an HDTV tuner with Firewire outputs and a fast Mac.

I mean the pci cards that exist on the pc market, sorry for the confusion. Those are not available to the Mac, but there is a guy working on it, so those HD-TV receiver pci cardsīll work with our PowerMac.
