Just after I replaced the battery in my 5G iPod ($50 from
www.ipodbattery.com), my FireWire connector went haywire. My son took the iPod apart and resoldered the FireWire connector, and all was well--for about a month, until the connection came undone again. I'm considering sending my iPod to a commercial service for repair, but I wonder how much the FireWire repair work generally runs in addition to the $30 shipping charge.
Has anybody had this kind of repair done?
Thanks for any advice.
