I accidentally erased my ipod, which until a little while ago was the only thing left on which my mp3s were stored. Long story short, the Prosoft website advertises Disk Rescue X as a means of recovering "valuable songs deleted" from ipods. I have been following the directions to the best of my ability (so I admit that this might be where the problem lies), and I am able to scan the drive. HOWEVER, when the 20 or so minutes are up, and the scan is complete, the program seems to freeze. I have let it sit for over an hour now, but the multi-colored ball is still spinning. This is the third time I have tried this, and this is the third time this has happened. In fact the program refuses to force quit, and I have had to force quit my computer (I know that probably isn't a good thing). Anyway, has anyone used Disk Rescue to recover files from an ipod that might have advice to offer? I would really appreciate it!
I am running 10.3.3 on a 12'' Powerbook.
