You can get a PPC to work with a Mac using this software:
Missing Sync
It's supposed to be quite good, though I use a Palm, so I can't really comment.

You may also want to check out pocketmac as well. I've only used The Missinc Sync with a Sony Clie so I'm not sure how they'd compare.

I am using PocketMac with my Compaq PPC. I must say, I am very impressed. It was able to seamlessly sync my contacts, calender and tasks to entourage (which was very fortunate since my POS desktop PC crashed, leaving all my valuable info stuck on the IPAQ). Avantgo works well. I have not yet tried to install a new program from the mac onto the IPAQ. I have not tried other software ie/ missing sync but would strongly recommend Pocketmac from my experiences.
Cheers,
Jason

I use PocketMac to sync my iPaq to my Ti and have no problems with it. we'll it has a few little bugs but nothing that will realy be of concern. The older version of PocketMac was terrible but they improved that and made the program far better. Also, if you get one of the newer pda's with built in bluetooth PocketMac supports sync with it.
