I'm looking for a new digital camera and thanks to a great tax return, I can afford to spend more than I thought I would be able to.
So I'm looking into the Sony DSCT1
Any opinions?
Also, what's with this MagicGate stuff and memorysticks? copyright protection?
what?

prapper, there are quite a few user reviews of this camera at dpreview.com and also a number of reviews at amazon.com.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat just for the form factor.

Downsides, IIRC, are no tripod mount, and you do have to take some time to calibrate the camera.

A friend of mine got it here in Japan for about $500 (a bit less, more like 450-500) and he loves it. It does decent pictures and has a humongous screen.

A nice camera.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

i hear that for a 5 megapixel camera, the picture quality sucks. But if you're in it just to flaunt it, then yeah, its a nice looking camera. Check out the reviews on cnet.com as well.

brapper, before you buy this camera, or any other, check out a great digital camera review site (Canadian, to boot). megapixel.net.

Do you really want a camera with no optical viewfinder. Or with a max wide angle of 38mm
