Hi,
I'm kinda of shopping around for a service like T-Mobile where I can quickly se my Airport card to access the net and grab mail and files.
So far I haven't found anyone that supports Airport cards.
Anyone have any ideas?

Yes: Stop looking, cuz that doesn't exist.
Airport cards are for local networking to a 802.11b/g base unit. TMobile is a cel service with wide coverage, but does not connect to Airport cards. They are two entirely different things.
There are cards out there (not made by Apple) that can connect to cel services, but I don't know if they are Mac compatible or not. You may want to look into connecting your Mac to your cel phone (via Bluetooth or a cable) and using it as a modem for your Mac. Some services will even allow GPRS connections this way, which would be relatively speedy.

i have doubts that anything would work with an ibook, but maybe with a pb, and its pci slot you could get the card to work.
wasn't there a way a while back to connect computers to nokia phones? (dont know if that was a pc only thing though.) granted, it was only dial up speed, but it was something

If you are referring to the T-mobile Wi-fi services offered in places like Starbucks, then just subscribe. They all work with Airport, because Airport is an industry standard. Apple just has its own name for it. And it's sexier than the industry name--IEEE 802.11.

^^i think that is what he is talking about, basically a cellular card that dials up the cellular network.
i really dont think this has anything to do with 802.11*

Actually Chris hit on the head ... I was looking for a service like T-Mobile and starbucks, but couln't find any specs on their homepages saying that the airport card was compatible.
I'll have to signup and see ...
Thanks for the input...
A nationwide version of the Richochet network would be awesome :-)

Just to chime in, For traveling the Bluetooth phone and hookup works best. Friend has the new nokia with edge and that's the fastest i've seen yet when connecting with a cell phone. Musch faster than dialup with a modem. I was amazed. SE has a new phone coming with edge but it doesn't have Bluetooth. Hopefully they wil try to address tha tin the future.
