ok i know its been over and over and over again here im sure, but whats the real difference with the +/- media? i read some where the -r is more comp. in dvd players and +r is less comp. but i didnt see any other Real difference. ive been using +r and have had no problems and they seem to be the same price. my burner supports either format(ive burnd one -R and had no problems with it) but is there any quality issues? will one one of them die out over time faster? any thing different??

You basically got it right. DVD -R is more compatible with set top DVD players where as DVD +R disc aren't compatible with older set top DVD players. Newer set top DVD players work just fine with both formats.
