I am planning a trip to New York next weekend (I'm from London) and am hoping to pick up an iPod mini while I'm there... Can anyone tell me what the availability is like at the moment? Do many shops have them in stock, or will I be lucky to find one?

They have them in stock 'at times" at the apple store in soho.

its hit or miss. last time I was there they had about 70. the time before that..none.

Today...May, 25, I was at TekServe (a Apple Reseller and independant service center) on west 23rd street in Manhattan and they had about 10 blue mini's and about 10 silver mini's.

so looks like mini supplies are finally catching up with demand.
