I'm going to spend next semester in Japan, and a friend who just got back from the same program suggested I buy a Song Clie in Japan so that it'll have Japanese character support and a built in dictionary. The US version of Palm OS does not have support for Japanese characters (such as reading them or writing them). So I was thinking of getting a Sony Clie PEG-TJ 37, which costs the same in the US as in Japan. But heres the catch, the US version has 802.11b, the Japanese version does not. I would very much love to have wireless support when I come back to the US. (The Japanese are not big on the wireless thing, which is why the Japanese version does not have it built in)
So the overall big question is can I flash a Sony Clie with the Japanese version Palm OS? This would also come in handy in case I would ever wish to flash it back to the US version. I have access to my friends install CDs, so I could always use them to do so.
Any and all ideas would be very well helpful.
