My friend has a SuperDrive-less dual 1.25GHz (or so) G4. He wants to add a SuperDrive either internally or extranally and have it work with the iLife apps. Is this possible? I recall something about an iDVD "easter egg" that allowed this, etc? Also - where can the part be had? Thanks.

I recommend:

beige model

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...139&depa=0
black model

both are 100% Apple disc burn capatible. Drives must be used internally to be compatible with iDvd etc... HTH

Just a caveat - I had lots of trouble getting my Pioneer A05 to work internally in my G4 Sawtooth. It caused kernel panics and all sorts of nasty behavior. I finally moved it to an external FW case, but you can't use it with iDVD there. Maybe things have improved for newer models, I don't know, but be sure to surf the stuff on xlr8yourmac's drive compatibility pages.
