okay, reading through my compusa flyer in the mail today and they have some sweet deals on 7200RPM SATA drives and USB 2.0 drives. First, is it possible to make these work with mac? Also, isnt the HD in the new G5 an SATA?

yes and yes... most components for macs and pcs are no different from each other. that includes hard drives. the drives will work for mac or pc.

the only thing is... if you want them to be used between and mac and pc. if so, there's the issue of formatting. (in that case you need to format it for PC, or in PC terms, FAT32. there's another format standard called NTFS, but that won't allow the mac to write onto it)

other than that.. you're good to go.
