Hey everybody!
I have a PM DP450 whcih came with no internal modem. I have an external USB Diamond SupraExpress modem that was working fine until I just installed Panther. I have been using it with Jaguar with no problems and just did an Archive and Install of Panther noe the modem will not work at all. The whole system is running great with Panther...very fast and stable in every way except my modem won't dial out now. I have verified the settings in System Prefs and Internet Connect and they did not change during the installation of Panther. I have tried a different phone cable and a different USB cable too with no luck. The modem is getting power via USB and shows up fine in System Profile, it just does not go through the dialing process now. Of the four indicator lights on the modem, only the power light stays on and there is no reporting with the other lights. I even tried connecting it to my 12" AlBook with exactly the same results. The internal modem on the AlBook dials and connects perfectly, but switching to the external gives the exact same result as when connected to the PM. Before I go out and buy another modem, I just thought I'd see if anyone else has run into this and might have a suggestion. Could Panther have killed the modem???
Thanks and have a great weekend!
