Well, I havent switched yet and I am going to in the near future.. just waiting on what WWDC has to offer. But with the mac I was thinking of getting a new photo printer to go with iPhoto. Well came apon this all in one. It prints at 5770 dpi Scans photos and also scans negatives from your film cammera... My question is if iPhoto will be able to seperate all the features and still work. As in be able to scan photos in iPhoto with the scanner, Scan Negatives with it then be able to print to the same thing. This would be a nightmare with a windows machine and macs are all about plug and play so hope fully it will work.

The all-in-one is:
Epson Stylus Photo RX500

Thanx,
Here's iPhoto's printer compatibility list:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/printers.html

The RX500 is not listed there, but I'm guessing it will work just fine. If you can print from the Mac with it - which, according to the website, looks like you can - then it should print from iPhoto with no problems. Key word is *should*... but I've never run into a problem myself.

I just got the epson Perfection 3170 scanner, and love it. I used it to replace an HP OfficeJet 5110 All-in-One, which I hated. Definitely have a look at the quality on these all-in-ones... I think they all do each function shoddily instead of excelling at one task in particular. The HP certainly sucked in almost all ways.

(And I don't know if you'd have to worry about USB 2.0 not being supported on the Mac... I think that's in Epson's documentation simply because Macs didn't have USB 2.0 when this was released. Though I could be wrong.)
