Hi Guys. I just recently had my iPod Mini, no more than two months old start acting incredibly out of whack. When I use the scroll wheel or move the iPod mini for that manner while its on I get static, from small clicks, to all out huge distorted and very irritable unlistenable clicks. The more I move the scroll wheel and access playlists, options, settings, especially while a song is playing, the worse the static becomes, to the point where I must take the headphones off and consider dropping it, cause anything is better then this problem! However, I didn't drop it this baby. The only thing I can think of is pressing the scroll wheel fairly hard to get an oil stain off of it after working in the car garage. Any ideas? This is very saddening, thinking that I just bought it 2 months ago and its the second apple product (my powerbook g4's hard drive died right after I decided to not continue apple care payments!) to go crazy. Thank You. : )

Wisked, thank You! Absolutley 100 percent helpful! I have addressed the concern with Apple and they have agreed hands down to replace the unit. Much Thanks again : )

So has Apple redesigned the faulty part, or are they just replacing minis anyway?

I haven't heard anything about replacement units yet. My guess is the latter.
