Hi all!
So, have been banging my brains over this 'un all weekend, and hoped someone out there could help...
I've got three devices set up to output to VGA---my desktop G4, my Powerbook (with appropriate adapter), and my XBox (which has a special VGA out adapter).
I also have an Apple CRT monitor---the pre-flatscreen tripod behemoth---which has a standard VGA connector on it.
I bought a 4 channel VGA switchbox to do the switching between the three---it's unpowered, a manual switcher, but should do the job.
Except that it doesn't. If I plug the monitor's VGA cable right into any of my three sources, it works fine, but through the switchbox, nothing. When I switch inputs, the monitor clicks as though changing video inputs, but the orange light doesn't go green, and I get no picture. I tried using a smaller, 2-channel switchbox to see if that clarified things, but no, the same problem persisted. Ditto when I tried changing VGA cables.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Or how I could fix it? Any help would be much appreicated. Thanks!
Daniel
