I'm just wondering how good these speakers actually are. I'm thinking about getting these because they are pretty cheap. I would love to get the Soundstick 2 but they are 200 bucks new. If anyone could comment on either one of these speakers (or the soundstick 1) please do.

If you are halfway serious about listening to music, you will do your self a favor and not consider either one of your choices. Spend your time saving & researching speakers based on your music & listening preferences. If you are just listening to low end MP3's, these would probably be marginally acceptable.

What type of computer are you planning on using with the speakers? What is your source for music, ie. CD, iPod, internet, etc.?

I have a 733 quicksilver, just going to use the speakers for listening to itunes (mp3 and acc files, not lossless or anything huge) and the average stuff. Nothing major at all. The apple pro speakers I have now are on their way out, there is a weird noise from them in the background.

For your uses, they would be fine. I use them for what you do and GarageBand compositions, and have been very happy with them.

The speakers are awesome for mp3 usage.
