well since you are getting a desktop, I would opt for a PCI based option, even though I have an EyeTV and love it. Also make sure and check if the PCI based options you are looking at work with the pci-x slots in the new G5's. Finally, your decision will come down to what you want to do with the product. You say watch TV, in that case it shouldn't make much of a difference what you get since software won't be as important (for editing, burning, scheduling), only quality and a firewire based eyetv should give you the same picture as an internal card.
