Greetings - I picked up an iRiver iFP-790 MP3 player (flash-based) so that I can have my tunes at the gym without endangering my iPod.

iRiver says the device is OSX-compatable, but it doesn't show up as either a hard drive on the desktop, nor does the iRiver file manager program (to transfer files/admin the device) see it when connected by the USB cable. (Yet it works fine when I hook it up to my friend's Wintel laptop, which is how I got my playlists loaded onto the player)

iRiver's not respnded to my repeated e-mail inquiries -- anyone have any ideas? Or do I need to bite the bullet and get another flash-based MP3 player that's Mac-friendly? And if so, any good recommendations?

Thanks for any ideas -- see some of you @ WWDC next week?
