Firewire hub recommendations?

Hi, folks -

Well, now that I've made the switch from a tower to a powerbook, I've run out of Firewire ports. I currently have a Lacie d2 firewire drive, a 40G ipod, and am receiving an isight today.

So I'm in the market for a firewire hub. I've done a bit of googling and by far the nicest looking hub is the Belkin 6-port model, but I've seen a few posts here saying that there's been problems. Can anyone who owns one of these (and is running OS 10.3.4) post experiences and thoughts on this?

Barring that, can anyone recommend a good firewire hub? I need at least 3 ports, but the more, the better.

Thanks!

Neil

I own a Belkin 4-port (not 6) and haven't had any problems, other than that the LEDs for the ports don't light up. However, from the design of the model I have, it's not clear if there are any LEDs or not...

I do not like them, Sam I am.

I had a huge problem with a Belkin 4-port. It smoked and sizzled and got hot and all that. Power supply problem. Belkin was super good about getting a replacement out to me and the 6-port they sent has been perfect for the past year or so. I'd recommend their mini-6 port hub any day.

Bringing this back from the dead to see what people are using now.
Also, can you hook up two iPods, say a regular and a Mini, at the same time?

I ended up buying the Belkin 6-port firewire hub (available here) which has worked wonderfully so far. It looks great, too, though I wish I had the white version to match my iMac.

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to hook up two ipods - my guess is that they would both show up as separate items in iTunes.
