So...I don't quite understand why Extreme costs $70 more, if they both do the same thing. Express is smaller, so it seems like it would be the preferable choice. Am I missing something? Do they perform the same? Thanks!

Edit: Also, can either device be used to connect one PC without wireless networking and one Mac with Airport Extreme built in to one connection? Thanks! Oh...and I'm realizing I should have posted this in the Networking forum. Sorry.

They do have some differences....

A modem is available in the "Extreme" version, as is an external antenna port. Also, the "Extreme" version has a wired LAN port for handling wired network clients as well as wireless.

The "Express" version does not have these features, though it does have the audio port that the "Extreme" does not.

So, for you, since you also want to connect a machine without wireless support, I would go with the "Extreme" version.

Also, Express only supports 10 connections, while Extreme supports 50. So, Extreme is better suited to a classroom, large office, etc.

before tooki gets in here and closes this thread with the staple "networking belongs in the networking forum, i will take this time to telll you that you should search the networking forums because this has been discussed heavily in there.
