I just got a Sony Ericsson T610 for its bluetooth capabilities, and I am pretty happy with it. I got it talking to my Mac with no problems, and I am able to both download and upload files.

However, I am having a slight problem with syncing between iCal and my T610. I live in New Jersey, so I am in the Eastern Time Zone which should be UTC-5. In order to have the time set correctly, I had to set my T610 time zone to GMT-5.00H and set Daylight Savings Time to "Wintertime".

When I first synced to iCal, all the calendar information came across fine. However, I put in a new appointment into my T610, and when it synced to iCal, iCal showed it an hour earlier than it should be. Moving it in iCal and syncing again set it on the T610 to an hour earlier than it should be.

I've tried setting my phone's Time Zone to GMT-5, setting Daylight Savings to 1 hour Summertime, and resetting the time, and that didn't handle the problem. Even worse, my T610 wants to keep setting the time to an hour later than it should be.

In iCal, the time zone for each appointment is set correctly, but I am sure I am missing something so simple, that I'll feel like an absolute idiot for overlooking it. But, what am I missing?

If the phone wants to change its clock, I wouldn't think the problem's with iCal or iSync. I would guess that the phone is checking its time against the network's time and attempting to change accordingly. Your phone didn't display the correct time when it was set up? I've got a T616, and so far it's been able to dislay the correct time even when I've travelled across time zones. I'd try taking it back to where you bought it--if they don't know the answer, they should be able to call someone who does--or try howardforums.com, the old standby.
