i'm looking for one that runs on batteries and could be moved around my yard. it needs to have good reception. it could be as far as 150' from my base station.
thanks for any suggestions or advice.

I think running on batteries will kill you.
WiFi just sucks a lot of energy.
What do you want to use it for ?

turtle777 : thanks. how about if i run power. any suggestions for one then? i want to use it to get a better look at the critters that come around. i live in a distant suburb of minneapolis and we have all forms of small furry woodland creatures.
southtdi : hmmmmm...smut...not a bad idea. that would certainly help fund my mac habit.
Socially Awkward Solo : what solutions have you tried? i can pick up my d-link router from 200' away using my pocket pc. my powerbook, on the other hand, doesn't get anywhere close to that. i'm planning on using some techniques to boost the signal. among them is a way to use an old satellite tv dish. looks like a mighty smart approach.
thanks for the replies.

I'm thinking I'll buy this wireless camera, I can always return it. My guess is that it uses activex or something stupid through windows web browser only. I'd like it if the wireless camera could be used as a video source in OS X too

I ordered it today. I should have it in 5-7 business days if you want to wait it out. After some more research most of what I hear is that initial configuration needs to be on the PC, but everything else should work fine on the mac. Probably won't work as a video source to use in other apps which if I can't "hack" this working might not be what I'm looking for. I will review the camera for my needs at the very least and report back.
Thanks!

Actually it sounds like everything needs Active X which on only on PC's. Virtual PC should work though but you don't want to have to use that all the time.
