I was looking on the Apple website and i noticed that the S60 wasn't listed as a compatible OS X camera. (http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/cameras.html)
This is the newest Canon camera to be released and i'm surprised that it's not listed?

Does anyone have this camera and if so, does it import into iPhoto properly?
I didnt' want to use Image Capture. It seems like an extra step and i would rather import directly into iPhoto.

Please let me know.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The camera works with iPhoto perfectly. It is not listed on Apple's site, because, like you said, it's brand new. However, I would NEVER bother connecting this camera to my Mac. I always use a firewire card reader, which also works great w iPhoto. There are many reasons to do it this way. Most importantly, it saves the camera battery and is a lot faster. If you plug into the camera directly, the camera (and it's battery) have to do some work. This drains a bunch of power. The connection is also only USB. And since this is a 5mpxl camera, transfers could take a while from a large card.
I really like this reader. It's been rated as the fastest available.
By the way, this is an awesome camera. I just got mine a week ago or so and am very impressed. I love the wide angle lens.

I agree, a compact flash card reader will easily transfer the photo's directly into iPhoto. However, i want to connect the camera direclty in (with a wire).

Have you done camera wire transfers?

Yes. The camera ships with a USB cable. It works fine, albeit slowly.

Check this.
I got mine from Butterfly Photo, which is listed there. If you're near the city, I bet B&H photo has it in stock.

you should check out the Canon S1 IS - I bought mine about 2 months ago and its proved to be an excellent camera - best part is the 10x Optical zoom.

And it isn't listed in the Apple site either and connects perfectly.

good luck and I can recommend B&K - I was there about 8 weeks ago - quite a store
