If I press on the sleep button which is configured in OSX to sleep then the monitor and PowerMac (800 QuickSilver) both sleep. Anyw ay to sleep the monitor. Even better by shell?
Thanks.

Energy saver settings in the System Preferences will allow you to set a separate sleep interval for the monitor.

Other than that, there's just the brightness keys on your keyboard.

Thanks. I was looking for a CRT equivalent... Turning brightness all the way is a way of saving the backlight?

pmset dim 1
echo "Apple Display Dim 1 Minute"
