Ok, so I am trying to hook up my gps to my power book, and had an old radioshack usb to serial converter, but can't seem to find anysoftware to get it to work, any ideas out there? Thanks for the help.

If there is no Mac OS X driver for your usb->serial converter, try using the 'USB Prober' in the Development tools, go to the Bus Prober tab and you may be able to find out what chip is used in the device. Which may lead you to an OS X driver from the manufactures website, or at least a start for what to look for.

thanks for the reply, but it came up as an unknown manufacturer, what do I expect, it is from radioshack.
