ok, so iREZ is gonna come down on me again for asking a stupid question, but which iPods were considered 2nd generation?

were they the 10 & 20 gig or just the 20 gig with the touch wheel?

i have a 10 gig with the scroll wheel which i always considered 1st generation.

sometimes i really wish apple would go back to giving products numbers instead of descriptors like "opaque" or "bronze keyboard" or "click wheel". it must make things a nightmare for their tech support.

i have always thought it was the ones with the buttons around the wheel. that model with the non-moveable wheel.

correct or not?

the 2nd Generation iPod was introduced during the summer of 2002. It had a redesigned top area (hold switch, etc.) and had a solid-state click-wheel. The lineup after the summer was 5g ( 1st generation ipod) 10g (2G) and 20g (2G).

1st Gen = Original (5 & 10GB)
2nd Gen = Solid State Scroll Wheel (10 & 20GB)
3rd Gen = Dock Connector (10, 15, 20, 30 & 40GB)
4th Gen = Click Wheel (20 & 40B)
