Hey guys.....
Here is the problem:
Two Macs, both 10.3.4. Both have wireless cards. Using a DSL provider.
I want to set up a wireless network in the house. Right now I have the Internet Sharing setup with the Mac connected to the DSL modem. It is broadcasting a signal via its Airport Card, but the range is not good with this setup for obvious reasons. I can only get about 15 to 20 feet of signal for the Powebook.
I tried to get my old AE Base Station to connect to the DSL modem with no luck. The DSL provider said "we don't support the Apple base stations". Unlike cable, this DSL thing is a pain to setup with all this PPPoE and other complicated stuff that I am sick of dealing with.
So I need to get another base station/router. Eventually I also want to set up the Airport Express as well. But I need to know what kind of base stations work with this crappy DSL service. Just got off the phone with 2 different SBC people who did not know jack.
Can anyone tell me if they are a SBC Yahoo customer and whether or not they have been able to successfully set up a wireless network and if so, what kind of base station they are using?
This is really frustrating. I cannot believe my $200 AE base station would not work.
