I am having trouble with my Sony (USM128EL) Flash Memory device (E)

It's platform lists compatible with MAC's and PC's and I have saved info on it for both. However, I run into problems whenever I move from one to the other. Ex= saving files on my Powerbook and then loading them from a PC. Everytime I attempt to transefer data, the drive locks and I lose all my info. Does anyone have any input or know of any downloads that could aid me...
