Has anyone successfully received a free ipod from these guys?
I will hopefully be getting one. It seems legit, as it's documented at various web sites: http://www.bar-of-soap.com/ipod.php

READ BEFORE YOU CLICK THE LINK

sorry to spoil the fun, but that link is a referal link. if u want to go to the site without giving a referral, go to freeipod.com. as others have noted, it's practically a pyramid scheme, and i've heard more bad than good. anyways, like i said, that is a referral link which will have u referred under his name. i normally have no problem with this, BUT THE FACT THAT HE DID THIS FROM YOU is kinda SHADY and LOW in my honest opinion.

Cheers

lol ... i always check links before i click 'em, it's harder with safari because it doesnt display links at the bottom of the browser like explorer does in windows (i know i know .. dont burn me yet .. i like safari ... especially the cool tabbing =P) but anyways .. i learned my lesson after all those forum posters that would post gang wars referall link s.. think it was gang wars or whatever. they would post stuff like "Click Here! I found a cheap place for Ipods or whatever) ... but instead of the actual http:// site posted, they would have it reworded to say "click here" or whatever. people would click it and find a screen saying they are now someone's bi7ch. part of some retarded game. oh well, this referal link isnt anywhere as bad as the gang war links, but it just bugs me when people dont come clean about things.

In safari view menu, check "Status Bar".

I didn't expect that kind of response at all. Yes it is pyramidy but no money is transferred through the pyramid. Nothing in life is free- there are some hoops to jump through and I was wondering if anyone had jumped through them.

I have seen no comments on this in the mac community and thought I'd ask. If I'd wanted to spam you, I would have made my message much more annoying and put it in a more traveled forum. I searched the forum for any previous discussion on this topic and found that there was none, so I posted.

Meanwhile there are tons of posts and web sites detailing that they indeed did receive their ipods:
http://www.bar-of-soap.com/ipod.php
http://gearlive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=92
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1771223899144212/
http://getfreeipods.tk/

So again, if anyone is interested after reading these web sites, they can
click here and also help me get one.

Why would any of us want to help you get a free iPod? Go spam somewhere else.
20" 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac --- just upgraded

Ok here, he's pointing out that it will help him, this is being more upfront about it. i'm ok about this. unfortunately, i dont wanna sign up on that thing, and jump through hoops, but i will atleast say i'm ok with this. i hate unannounced referrals. i am not saying u were intentionally spamming or anything, i was saying you were being uhm ... what's the word ... .. basically that you didnt come up front with us and let us know that it was a referral. you made it seem like a basic link to their homepage, without a referral string attached. ok .. sorry if i came off mean, but if you are going to have people help you, atleast ask for help instead of hiding the link.

by the way, i looked at the site too, but when i realized what's up .. i figured bah ... anyways good luck with your free ipod .. (if they arent all given out already or if there is enough people that qualify) i've read alot of things about cancelled ipods without explaination so i dont trust them. amazon has 15gb 3g ipods for 249 (add a dollar and they give u a $50 gift certificate) if u have a use for the gift certificate, the ipod price drops to 200 buck. i decided to go with that 200 dollar ipod instead of a 300 4g ipod. good luck. dont bother waiting forever for that free ipod. grab you're for two hundred bucks and start enjoying it now.
