I'm looking for a simple case for my 20GB 4G iPod. I don't need anything fancy, just something to keep it from getting scratched up in my pocket. I don't mind lifting a flap thing to see the screen but I do need to be able to connect the remote. The most important thing is that the case should be very thin. I don't want some bulky thing in my pocket, which is where the iPod will be most of the time while I'm at work. In case it makes a difference, I'll never use a belt clip so the case doesn't have to have one. I also don't think I would mind something designed for a 3G iPod.

I'd be happy with a slip cover sort of thing but I need recommendations. There are so many cases out there I don't have time to search through them all. Something fairly inexpensive would be nice too, but that's less important.

Help me narrow down my search!

well, since it just came out a week ago, the selection of cases is rather slim, since manufacturers haven't had a chance to even design new cases (much less manufacture them). In the mean time, I'd suggest the timbuk2 iPod case, which will not let you see the screen or access the buttons, but it will protect the iPod and it has a hole for headphones to pass through. Plus, with the click wheel on the new iPods, you may still be able to use the buttons through the front of the case.

I'm not so concerned with being able to see or access everything, which is why a small sack-like thing would be ok, as would a flip-top case. I will be using the remote.

Actually the timbuk2 case isn't bad. Is it still pocketable? That's the main criterion really. I don't want a huge bulge in my pocket.

Is there anyone with real world experience on this issue?
