iPod skip between songs?

Hi! I just bought a new 4G 40GB iPod, and I'm wanting to put my whole CD collection on it. One question, though: Does it cause skips or silence between tracks when playing them back? I have a lot of CD's with tracks that run into each other. Will I have an awkward gap between these songs? Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Rob

Under preferences, you can set the time between songs (or set it to 0 time).

Does that work now? Or is there still that slight annoying hiccup?

In iTunes, go to preferences > audio and you can adjust the cross fadeback.
I have a 3G iPod and it works. There's still a slight hiccup but it's pretty close. I've used it on a couple of CDs I've ripped (a George Carlin concert CD and The Hitchhiker's radio tapes).

One other question: Will iPod play tracks back with crossfading like iTunes? Thanks for your help, everyone!
Rob

Edit: Hmmm...missed it by just a second. Thanks!

I don't think any iPods have a crossfade function, which is a shame.
Where is the zero second setting in iTunes btw? I cant find it in the main prefs screen. I only see the iTunes crossfade setting, which i'm pretty sure only works in iTunes, and not iPods. And also the burning gap setting, whch again is no use to iPods.
If the above fails, then the next best thing (Although still not ideal, granted) is to import your mixed CD's as a single track, which iTunes can do for you.
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.
