Does anyone have any experience with the C. Crane FM transmitter? It's a bit pricey, but it has specs that would blow away the iTrip and TuneCast.

Post your experience if you've had any.

I just bought one. It's range blows away anything else I've tried, and it's PLL synthesized, which means it doesn't drift, and stays where you tune it.
So far, I'm very pleased. I bought one of the returned ones for $10 off the regular price, and it looks like brand new.

Great! Thanks for your reply.
Tell me, have you tried this with your iPod in a car? If so, do you get a full stereo sound with it? My Belkin TuneCast only gives great stereo sound when going through a tunnel or when I touch the iPod. Very frustrating.
Also, what are the increments when adjusting the frequency? Battery Life?
Thanks again. I'm considering buying one and, with the 30 day money back, I guess I can't go wrong. I'll also do what you did and pick up one of the "orphaned" ones.

Haven't tried it in my car, it's in my basement office hooked to my main desktop. I get very good reception on my 20th Anniversary Mac in the living room, and it sounded good on my GE SuperRadio out on the back porch too. It's definitely stereo. I do live in a pretty small house, so I can't get far from the signal, but even with it transmitting from the basement, my reception has been satisfactory. It does come in at a lower volume level than other broadcast stations, but it's nothing tweaking the reciever volume doesn't compensate for.
It tunes in .05 Mhz increments, meaning you could choose 95.45, 95.50, 95.55- as detailed as it gets. I can't comment on battery life, I've never put any in them. I'm using this as an in house music system, not a portable.
It's smaller than I thought it would be from the pictures- my hand engulfs it nicely. Somehow, I had envisioned it larger.
BTW, there's an easy to find hack for it to increase the output power. I found it via google groups, I'm sure you can too.
Go for it. Worst you're out is the cost of shipping it back, but so far, I've found it to be a quality product.

Thanks for the info, C.J. It seems like a great device and a rather well kept secret. I'll be ordering one this week.
