Having just come back from the bose store i have some very interesting news.

Apprently Bose is getting in bed with Apple, and Bose is creating a lot of accessories for the iPod, most notably a docking station with nice bose speakers come from it. But this also raises a very interesting point, will bose be able to play downloaded songs from iTunes, everything seems to be pointing at yes. Quote from Bose manager. "Apple is leading the way with music, and if we don't move with them we will get left behind, expect a lot of Bose products to have the apple logo on them, thats all i'm going to say."

He also stated that Apple was going to start selling bose products, Headphones, Computer Speakers etc.

Its all coming along very nice for us mac users.

That's some good news. I would certainly like to see Apple branded Bose goods, some of their stuff is amazing.

Wow, this would be awesome - I think some of the BOSE-Stuff is highly overrated, but then again, they do have products that live up the "Hype".

Hmm, a 17" G5 Powerbook with BOSE-Speakers and a built-in Subwoofer. Nice.

Thanks for sharing the news...

Bose and Apple have worked together in the past: the TAM had a Bose subwoofer. Should be interesting to see what comes out in the upcoming months.

Hmm, Harman Multimedia makes the Cube / iMac / Pro Speakers, but since none of them are current I guess there is an opening. If they showed up anywhere, it'd be alongside the new iMacs next month.

Erm, It's not likely to be anything more than a posh set of powered speakers. So it will play anything that the iPod can play, as this is the source of the audio. So, no reason what-so-ever why it can't play music downloaded from the iTunes store just as any other powered speaker arrangement can.

Well, they have made some crap speakers in their time. But then so have a lot of companies. Bose also make plenty of very good ones too. Not cheap, but then you get what you pay for. Bit like Macs really
Bose have always been quite pioneering when it comes to new speaker technology.. Usually, they pull it off very well, but occasionally they have messed up some, and perhaps this is where the bad rep comes from.
At the end of the day, I'd never buy costly speakers without listening to them 1st.

Ditto.

The "noise cancellation" of those headphones, along with the comfort, are top notch though...

Sorry here being in Australia we miss a lot of things, they aren't sold at Apple stores here,

Also in regard to the iTunes downloaded songs playing on Bose, I was more implying that you would be able to rip these songs onto the Bose hard drive systems.

That's probably because you don't have any Apple stores! When we say "Apple Store", we mean an Apple retail store (one owned and run by Apple), not an Apple-authorized reseller.

In 1986, they made a special set of Roommate Speakers to go with the Apple //gs.

It will be interesting to see what they come out with. But i have a feeling that they will just out source and slap their name on it. At least know Harmon/Kardon does for Dell, not sure if they did the same for the iSub and what not.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

As for Bose products being overpriced, somebody has to pay for all of their expensive marketing.

Who makes the iPod headphones? What about the in-ear ones?
