Hello all, I did a search but did not come up with anything neither here or on the web.

Do any of you know how I could get my Pro Speakers from my 1GHZ iMac to work with my iPod. I bought new speakers for my iMac some time ago and the old ones are just sittign there. I would like to bring them to work and use them with an iPod. Is this possible.

Any set of powered speakers that uses a 1/8" stereo mini plug will be fine (also knowen as a 3.5mm plug) This is your standard Headphone plug. If I remember correctly the pro speakers required an amplified output off the iMac or G4 tower, and I don't believe Harmo Kardon sells an in line amp for them.

Shoot, I didn't really want to buy anything else.. I guess I will just keep them aside until the day I decide to sell my iMac.

i believe the Griffin iFire does what you want, although it will get its power from the iPod battery (thus draining it faster). You might be able to use the iPod charger plugged into the wall to power the iFire, so that the iPod doesn't have to power it. I'm not positive that would work, though.
