4g iPod unable to sync with blue and white G3

	I plugged in my new 4G iPod into the computer at my parent's place yesterday, and the iPod wouldn't mount at all. Didn't show up on the desktop. Neither did iTunes open up. I know the firewire ports are working b/c I plugged a 1g iPod into the blue and white, it mounted fine. Ditto for the firewire cd-rw burner I plugged in. The 4g iPod mounts on both the G5 I have and the 15" aluminum powerbook. So there doesn't seem to be an iPod problem. So...is there some software thing I've missed I'm supposed to install? Anybody else have the same problem?
	Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!
