did anyone catch the opening ceremonies? all the kids singing in the choir had white headphones on (i presume to help them ignore the echo in the stadium), i couldn't tell for sure that they were iPod headphones, but just towards the end i could have sworn i saw that one of the kids' phones had dropped out a bit and it looked a lot like the new in ear Apple headphones.

pretty sweet deal, if they were iPods (and you got to keep em), and you got to be in the opening ceremonies.

Haha. I told my parents the same thing when we were watching. They just laughed at me and said "No way."

Yes, this is the new, secret, wireless iPod Extreme, that allows an administrator to jump-start up to 14000 iPods at *exactly* the same time, so that every kid in the choir (and all the athletes who were wearing them too) will hear the mp3 playback they're singing to at exactly the same time.

Look for release at the Paris Macworld Expo on August 31.

While you're waiting, look up "in-ear monitoring" on Google.
