ipod 3g sync problem?

	hey, last night, when i synced my ipod (3g 15gb) to my powerbook, it was updating a little longer than usual (considering i only ripped two cd's onto itunes). when i looked at what was going on, i saw that it was transfering my entire itunes collection (or most of it anyways) onto my ipod. the thing is, i didnt delete anything from my ipod. why did it have to re download all the songs? thanks in advance for your help guys =P
