Will ATI come out with a dual-link card that can drive the 30-incher? That $600 for the NVidia is pretty steep coming on top of the 30" price.

Not really that expensive when when you consider the PC version of the 6800 cost about $500 and doesn't have the dual DVI dual-link set-up. If and when Ati comes out with a X800 Mac version it will have to have a dual-link DVI interface as well and probably cost over $500 too. Ati has a history of charging Mac users more for a card on the Mac than on a PC. If you are gonna have a really high 4 million + pixels to push you had better have a top of the line card to push them. Unfortunately this means you're gonna pay for it.
