Hi guys. I have a problem with my FW HD. It was working perfectly shut my mac down (PB 1Ghz 10.3.5) and switched of the FW HD that was ejected before shut down.
Turn my mac on later and the FW HD wants to be initialized! Nothing moved, no power problems, nothing.
In disk utility says that the has a invalid B-tree. I have lots of data on this drive and really don't wanna initialize it. Any app you can recommend to sort this B-tree issue out?

I have tried Disk Warrior but it doesn't appear in the pull down menu and Norton disk utility crash when I exam it.

Any thoughts?

First thing:

Remove ALL traces of Norton Utilities from your computer.

Which version of DiskWarrior are you using?

Have you tried Disk Utility? TechTool Pro?

yeah I know Norton is no good but am at a loss.
I tried disk utlity OS9 and OSX. All it could do is tell what was wrong.
tech tool delux couldn't fix the problem either. see if I can get my hands on the latest version. But tech tool did say there is aproblem witht the disk header.
Grrrr. I wish I had dropped it or something so I could atleast see why it's all messed up. Just sitting on a desk!

Thanks for your help. Is there any freeware/shareware option people know of?

I tried Tech Tool 4 which could see the 'drive' but not the 'volume'. The 'drive' passed all test surface scan etc... but it will not turn up in list in volumes.
Am I missing something in the Tech Tool menus?

If i do get this drive working should I replace it?

worked for me when my fw drive refused to mount, same problem.
doesnt mean u need to replace the drive, just that it needs to be repaired.
