1) replacing stock superdrive (dvr-103) in qsdp800 with pio dvr-107 is totally compatible and transparent correct?
2) what is the diff between 107 and 107d?
Thanks very much!
1) The DVR-107 is fully recognized by OS X. Its essentially a drop-in replacement. I just added one to my G4, and its recognized and fully supported natively by OS X.
2) None, IFAIK. I believe the letter designates how the drive was sold (as bare OEM drive, as a retail kit, etc). I have a DVR-107D in my G4 (bare OEM drive purchased from Other World Computing) and a DVR-107BLX in my PC (a retail boxed black bezel version of the drive). Functionally the two are identical.
