I have a 10 gig iPod (original 2G model?) that I'm selling. At some point someone is going to ask "does this work with Windows?" I know when this model came out that there were Mac and Windows versions. I use my iPod on my Mac. Is there a way to get it to work on a Windows machine? (This is the Firewire only model).

I recall people being able to make a Windows iPod work on a Mac, but not vice versa. There is a topic on Apple's Discussions site on this subject. Search for "converting iPod from Mac to Windows XP".

One more thing. Be careful to not refer to your iPod as a "Click Wheel" iPod when selling it. That designation is left for the mini and the 4G. The buttons actually surround the wheel on your model, so, it's not the same.

Thanks for the info. There's quite a large Mac community here so I guess I'll just target them. It's too bad this can't be made to work with Windows... oh well..

iPods do well on ebay. Check the current auctions there to see what you can make.
