I bought a new battery for my 1st generation iPod from Other World Computing. With some difficulty I was able to open the iPod case as instructed, by prying between the front and back of the case using their dinky nylon screwdriver. There was no indication of any problem with the procedure. I replaced the battery, closed the case, and tried to charge the battery, only to find that the battery was defective.
Other World Computing has agreed to replace the battery; however, I can't open the case back up! The space between the top and back of the case is now nonexistent. There is no room to insert the little nylon screwdriver, much less anything as thick as a credit card. I really don't want to try any metal tool or a razor blade for fear of injuring the case (or myself).
Anyone have suggestions for opening the iPod case?
