Hi:

Butterfly Photo currently has a digital camera I've been casing for really cheap [Nikon 3700 - $160]. Anybody out there have any experience with them one way or another?

Thanks!

yup dave .. i BOUGHT the SAME CAMERA from THE SAME GUYS and they are great. small irritation, they may call you to do a survey, they didnt try to sell me any accessories. the price is great (i got it for 280 - 100 nikon rebate = 180) so you are saving twenty bux on mine. It's a great camera. The 640x480 video mode works great, and it's amazingly sharp with active zoom correction. The 640x480 is TV resolution, and it's huge on a 12inch powerbook screen. Cnet gives it good ratings for color and picture quality, but I do have to warn you about it's low light performance. It takes a steady hand for dark dark dark conditions, so before you use it for the first time at a big event, make sure you tinker with it to understand how the camera performs. The Macro mode is amazing, letting u get the lense up close for an INSANELY sharp and well focused shot. Better than many canon prosumer models. oh .. and by the way, the video mode is 2x the size of canon camera's such as the s400/s410/s500 and even the s40/50 camera's (not sure about the s60/s70's.

GO for it .... those brooklyn guys will get it out to you real fast. BTW, pick up a bigger SD card, 16mb starter is fine for 1024x768 pictures (you can fit a bunch of those on the card) but it's not enough for max resolution and film footage. I got a 256SD from Sandisk for 26.99 after mail in rebate. Good Luck
