make sure that the non-printer functionality actually works under mac os x. too many of these devices are windows only.

my contribution: i just bought a hp laserjet 1012. it's about the same price ($200 + usb cable + full toner

) and doesn't have the extra non-printer functionality. however it prints quickly and black, amazingly enough, is black. (as opposed to the pallid grey of inkjets.)
