I'd like to be able to use my roommate's printer, but he says that it has network issues. Is there any way that the USB cable could be split, so that the printer could connect to both computers via USB?

Your going to have issues w/ that, It would be best to resolve the printing issues or swap the usb to whoever needs to print at the moment.
