I heard the original airport b get you 11 megabits per second.
I currently use Roadrunner, cable modem.
How many megabits per second do I get directly connected in to my cable modem?
I want to know how much slower aiport will be if I decide to pick up a card.
thank you.

Like I said in your other thread, there is no such thing as "Airport b." You mean 802.11b, which is 11Mbps. I highly doubt your cable is anywhere near that. Cable in the US is usually closer to 3Mbps. So no, Airport will not be a bottleneck.

thanks for your replies. Yes, I understand that airport is 802.11b. I was just too lazy to write it out.
Only 3mbps. So right now airport extreme is just a pimp dream at 54mbps?
I guess so.

People need faster wireless to transfer files between local computers, not to surf the net.
