Hi all!
I know... I am a heretic! But I have two specific questions regarding the 23" cinema display and how to hook it up to a PC (which I only use for games, I promise!). I did a search on the forum and found good info, but not exactly what I want to know.
That said, here are the questions...
1. I have an alienware PC with an nVidia 5900 Ultra graphics cards. I am currently using an "old" 20" Cinema Display, using a DVI-to-ADC adapter. It works great. My question is, will I be able to hook the new 23" to the PC directly, without using the converter? It is my understanding from Apple's info on their website, that the new cinema displays are now DVI, and not ADC. Am I correct in this?
2. The 23" cinema display has a native resolution of 1920x1200. Working resolutions are listed on Apple's site as: 1920 x 1200 pixels (optimum resolution), 1280 x 800 pixels and 1024 x 640 pixels. Can the display support other resolutions such as 1600x1200 (4:3 aspect ratio)? I ask this because one thing I don't like about the 20" display is that I can not run it at 1600x1200 (a very common 4:3 resolution). I am hoping that the 23" might be able to (even if it means having black bars on the sides).
Thanks for any information you guys can provide!

Ok... to answer my own question (and for future reference in case anyone needs help):
Just came back from my local Apple dealer and had a chance to take a look at one of the new 23" displays in action.
1. The new displays now come with a pure DVI connector, meaning there is no problem at all to hook it to the PC in my case.
2. Was able to test the 1600x1200 resolution, showing correctly in its 4:3 ratio. The display is certainly capable to displaying non-standard resolutions, so I assume it shouldn't be a problem on the PC side (especially using Power Strip).
EDIT: Will add further comments once I get the display and hook it to the PC.

No offense intended, but I don't understand why you bothered to ask if you already read that from Apple's site.

Well I'm not really good with DVI and ADC and whatnot... I get lost with converters and such. I was particularly spooked by Apple's following quote: "If your graphics card supports DVI with DDC technology for widescreen viewing, you should be able to use these two displays with a PC."
That's the reason why I asked, wanted to make sure before forking out the cash.
As for the resolution question, intuitively I guessed it could support non-standard resolutions, but since I have had problems in that respect with my 20" display, I wanted to make sure.
Hope this answers your question.
